With new cultures, we may experience or witness unethical business practices where we’re faced with uncomfortable decisions such as reporting or not reporting what we’ve seen. The decisions we make can affect the company, our customers, suppliers and our fellow colleagues.
This is why we have implemented an independent whistle-blowing system that will provide an anonymous reporting channel for unethical behaviour in the workplace (i.e dishonest business dealings, theft, bribery, conflict of interest, etc). Having an independent source to report unethical or criminal behaviour helps to strengthen our first line of defence in combatting fraud, protecting the business and our stakeholders. And in the arenas in which we operate, it demonstrates to our clients that we mean business – honest business.
Tip-offs Anonymous is wholly managed by Deloitte, a highly reputable, global firm with 200,000 professionals delivering audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services in more than 150 countries. One of Deloitte’s areas of expertise is risk management and their tip-off line is part of mitigating risk for businesses that trade in the global market.
Tip-offs Anonymous operates 24/7/365, enabling all internal and external WingsNaledi® stakeholders to report theft, corruption, dishonesty, fraud and any other inappropriate workplace behaviour. Employees, suppliers and customers can provide information and confidentiality is guaranteed.
What Should Be Reported to Tip-offs Anonymous?
- Abuse or theft of company property or resources
- Bribery, corruption or fraud
- Collusion with suppliers and business partners / anti-competitive behaviour
- Sensitive issues such as acts of discrimination, intimidation or sexual harassment
- Unauthorised divulgence of confidential company information
- Conflicts of interest or inappropriate relationships
- Improper accounting and financial recording of transactions
- Not obeying company rules and procedures
- Unauthorised removal of company property
- Intentional damage to the environment
- Dangerous health and safety practices
What Should Not Be Reported to Tip-offs Anonymous?
For WingsNaledi® employees, it is very important to note that Tip-offs Anonymous is not a service to report employment grievances or complaints. These should be directed to the appropriate HR reporting channels which are available
The Checklist Below Will Help You Collect and Organise Pertinent Information Before You Call:
- Region, business unit &/or department involved
- Date and time of incident
- Where (specifically) did the incident take place
- Names of people involved
- Details and description of the misconduct
- Details of any witnesses to the incident being reported
- Details of any proof which may exist and where it is located
- If money is involved, how much
- Is this a regularly occurring activity or a “once off” incident
WingsNaledi® has a zero tolerance for corruption of any kind – this goes for employees, board members, and shareholders as well. We expect the same from our contractors, suppliers and customers. WingsNaledi® will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. So, whether you’re an employee, customer, supplier, manager or other shareholder, if you witness any dishonest business dealings, please raise your concern using the channels available to you, including this new safe, confidential and secure tip-off line.
